About the Speaker(s)

Dave Miller of Seattle-based Stoke Strategy, will share his case studies and perspective from years of work in branding and design for businesses, with brands and budgets of all sizes and kind. Dave will share his expertise in the industry, his sources of insight, and knack for creativity in product, service and communications design. He'll also be highlighting some of the success of small clients, "green" technology – and comment on emerging trends for business innovation. Dave not only is someone that "stokes" the creative projects and space he works, but he is also an innovative leader, thinker, and contributor in his field. A recovering ski bum, a rugby player and dedicated father, we'll also learn how he contributes positively to the students, friends and community in which he lives. (www.stokestrategy.com)

Maria Murnane a San Francisco Bay Area native now living in New York, will share her story about quitting the rat race to write, publish and market an award-winning novel, "Perfect on Paper," which she has dedicated to any woman who has ever been on a really bad date or realized halfway through the workday that her skirt is on backwards. She will also offer her perspective on leaving the security of a steady paycheck to pursue her true passion in life, along with other nuggets and takeaways on how to be successful in marketing, even on a dime. Her "guts and grace" and genuine style has led to a large following of fans, not to mention numerous writing awards. A genuine, smart, fun, and out-going woman, as well as an all-star soccer player, Maria shows how guts, grace, sweat and creativity can sometimes make a little go a long way. (www.mariamurnane.com)
